What is the 'Gaza Metro' and could it be why Israel haven't invaded yet? | ITV News

These tunnels reportedly are longer than the London Underground and could be the reason Israel hasn’t invaded Gaza yet.

The militant group claimed the tunnels are over 300 miles long, that’s the distance from London to Scotland.

and in 2020 Israel is reported to have found one of the tunnels seventy metres deep.

Most of the tunnels are concrete reinforced – around six and half feet high and in some places as narrow as a foot wide.

The Israeli Defence Forces claim they’re prepared to deal with underground warfare.

But even if Israeli forces did advance, the tunnels could allow Hamas to detonate explosives under infrastructure where the Israeli defence forces might be above and quickly launch attacks from tunnel exits before going back below.
