US President Trump is now saying the Israel-Hamas war should be over by the end of this week. His optimism is being fueled by a new round of indirect peace talks that began on Monday in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh. On Friday, Hamas announced that it had accepted some of Trump’s plan, including the release of all Israeli hostages.
Nevertheless, there has been no let-up in Israel’s offensive in Gaza City. The Hamas-controlled health authority says dozens of Palestinians have been killed in the latest Israeli strikes.
