A man believed to be behind a car and knife attack outside a synagogue, which has claimed the lives of two people and injured three others, was shot by firearms officers within minutes of the incident.
Greater Manchester Police have not been able to confirm the suspect’s death because of safety issues surrounding "suspicious items on his person", a statement said.
Officers were called to the incident in the Crumpsall area on Thursday morning where members of the Jewish community were marking the holy day Yom Kippur.
