A militant group called M23 has taken control of one of the largest cities in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The group has been active for years, and is reportedly backed by Rwanda’s government, although the Rwandan government denies that.
ITV News’ International Affairs Analyst Rageh Omaar explains how the current conflict stretches back to the Rwandan genocide in 1994, and what is behind the latest outbreak of fighting.
Kenya’s President has called on all sides to come to a peaceful solution, saying that any resolution can not be achieved by fighting.
