The work of filling the shoes of Angela Rayner began in earnest today in the Labour party and around the cabinet table.
Six women have already stated they want the job as Deputy party leader. They are in a hurry because nominations close the day after tomorrow.
So far, Bridget Philipson has the most, with Lucy Powell not too far behind.
In Downing Street, the Prime Minister held his first post-Rayner cabinet – saying its members – new and old – were the right people to deliver economic growth and national renewal.
