‘Whoever harms us, we harm them’: Netanyahu announces pre-emptive strikes against Hezbollah

Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the military has been instructed to proactively remove the threat of Hezbollah in order to ensure the protection of Israel. Israel launched a wave of airstrikes across southern Lebanon early Sunday in what it said was a pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah, as the militant group said it had launched hundreds of rockets and drones towards Israel. Expectations of an escalation between the two sides had risen since a missile strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights last month killed 12 people and the Israeli military assassinated a senior Hezbollah commander in response.
