The Al Jazeera news network is close to being shut down in Israel. The Israeli parliament passed a new law on Monday allowing the government to ban foreign networks perceived as a security threat. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused the Qatari broadcaster of actively taking part in the Hamas-led October 7 terrorist attacks.
