Temperatures have reached a record low on the East coast, dipping below 10°C, which causes their nervous systems to shut down and that’s why they seem to be frozen.
Florida’s wildlife agency has now issued an executive order urging the public to collect the reptiles.
Thousands have already been rounded up, where they’ll either be “humanely killed” or “transferred to permittees for live animal sales.”
