Why it’s vital to record the stories of people with disabilities

For years these voices were silenced, but now for the first time their stories are being officially recorded for a permanent archive at the British Library.

People with learning disabilities all across the UK now have a chance to control over their own narratives.

Memories of family history, schooling and love-life are just some of the topics that will feature in the first archive.
