Why social media giants have been forced to pay £20m to a group of US schools

A small group of American schools that sued social media giants – claiming they were harming the mental health of pupils – has received a £20m settlement.

It’s seen as a test case for more than a thousand other US school districts.

But could it act as a blueprint for schools in the UK to make similar claims?
