Israel says it wants to see the release of all the remaining hostages held in Gaza – as mediators pushed for a new proposal linking the release of some of the living hostages to a 60 day ceasefire.

Hamas officials have shown a "positive response" to the plan, according to Qatari mediators, who described it as "almost identical" to an American proposal which Israel had accepted before.
