Trudi Burgess’ partner was charismatic, capable and much admired. But he was also a "manipulative, entitled" abuser. In a fit of rage, he broke her spine and left her paralysed for life.
Today, Robert Easom was jailed for sixteen years. In an extended interview with Channel 4 News, Trudi said much more must be done to improve the understanding of coercive control. She says it left her trapped by fear and shame and nearly cost her, her life.
