A woman has played the clarinet during brain surgery at London’s Kings College Hospital to help her manage her Parkinson’s symtoms.

65-year-old Denise Bacon kept playing the instrument while surgeons carried out deep brain stimulation, enabling the team to see and hear instant results.
She said she was delighted at the improvement in her hand movements and her ability to play.
