From there they set their sights on Moscow. <\/p>\n<p>Prigozhin called off the coup within hours, but it was the most serious challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin&#8217;s rule since he came to power in 1999. Exactly two months later, a plane carrying Prigozhin and his top aides crashed, killing everyone on board. The Kremlin denied any involvement.
