Over time the streetcar was seen as outdated, slow and inconvenient. In the 1960s Li\u00e8ge decided to abolish its tram network and replace it with buses. But traffic and congestion grew unbearable, and the idea of bringing the tram back came about in 2007. Today, trams are not just a mode of transport.
