The US President said Iran would face \u201csomething very tough\u201d if negotiations do not succeed.   He said he is considering sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East to prepare for military action.<\/p>\n<p>The US and Iran resumed negotiations last week, for the first time since the 12 days of conflict in June 2025, when the US carried out airstrikes on Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities.   Alongside the new talks, the US has begun a massive military build-up in the region.   The USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group has already been deployed. <\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump has claimed that Iran &quot;wants to make a deal very badly\u201d.    However Tehran has said it won&#8217;t negotiate on any issues other than its nuclear program and won&#8217;t give up its right to enrich uranium.
