{"id":375618,"date":"2026-09-03T19:00:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T18:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsisc.com\/videos\/i-interrogated-an-alleged-9-11-plotter-but-crucial-evidence-was-missing\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T19:00:25","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T18:00:25","slug":"i-interrogated-an-alleged-9-11-plotter-but-crucial-evidence-was-missing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsisc.com\/videos\/i-interrogated-an-alleged-9-11-plotter-but-crucial-evidence-was-missing\/","title":{"rendered":"I interrogated an alleged 9\/11 plotter &#8211; but crucial evidence was missing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/uO4A0A3Zmng\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"I interrogated an alleged 9\/11 plotter - but crucial evidence was missing\"><br \/> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uO4A0A3Zmng\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<p>The Scotland Yard counter-terrorism officer tasked with interrogating an alleged Saudi intelligence officer just days after 9\/11 has told ITV News that evidence known to the FBI but not given to UK investigators would have stopped his release.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking for the first time in an exclusive sit-down interview, former detective David Campbell has shared his account of the investigation that could have been crucial to establishing responsibility for the terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11th 2001. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DC David Campbell told ITV News Global Security Editor Rohit Kachroo that Omar Al Bayoumi, who is alleged to have provided financial backing and support to the 9\/11 hijackers, was \u201cliterally conducting a reconnaissance video\u201d unseen to him at the time Al Bayoumi was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Omar Al-Bayoumi was arrested in Birmingham days after the atrocity and interviewed in London by counter-terrorism police. Among the evidence collected was a drawing of a plane alongside calculations that could be used to work out its descent were found, along with 80 videos of Bayoumi with the two attackers.
