She was allegedly then raped. The woman, from the minority Kuki tribe, was attacked by a mob from the Meitei people. The incident sparked months of violence and unrest in Manipur from late May, killing at least 140 people. The opposition leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, accused the prime minister of \u2018keeping quiet\u2019 and not addressing the matter. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Modi said: \u2018I want to assure the citizens that those guilty will not be spared.
