WWII veteran: ‘I look up and say thank you’

Britain has been marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day and we’ve been speaking to one veteran who’ll take part in commemorations later this week.

Henry William Rice – almost one hundred years-old – served as a Royal Navy signalman in a key communications role. Back in 1945 as the country was celebrating the end of war in Europe, he was still at sea and was sent half-way around the world to continue fighting.
