Yorkshire Water announces hosepipe ban after driest and warmest spring on record | ITV News

Yorkshire Water has announced a hosepipe ban will come into force later this week, as the UK prepares for it’s third heatwave of the summer.

From Friday, using a hosepipe to water gardens, wash cars or carry out any other domestic activities will be prohibited.

Customers who ignore the ban could face fines of up to £1,000, but the utility said “we hope it won’t come to that”.
