US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, declaring it must reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face, in his words, “living hell.”
He has threatened to strike key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if Tehran does not restore access to the vital global shipping route.
The latest threats came as details have emerged of a dramatic US military operation to rescue a missing American serviceman after a fighter jet was shot down over Iran. Special forces carried out a high-risk mission under fire to extract the injured crew member from mountainous terrain.
