Green Party leader Zack Polanski has told Sky News the Gorton and Denton by-election is an "incredibly important win".
Hannah Spencer is the new MP for the Greens, after winning by more than 4,000 votes.
Mr Polanski said: "It’s an incredibly important win not just for the Greens but actually for Gorton and Denton and frankly the entire country because this will transform the face of British politics."
