Zelenskyy calls for European army amid fears of reduced US support

Ukraine’s president has called for the creation of a European army and warned the United States not to negotiate with Vladimir Putin "behind our backs".

And this afternoon after President Trump’s envoy suggested peace talks would be between Russia and Ukraine, with America and no one else present, President Zelenskyy said Europe needed to be represented too.

It was the culmination of a busy day at the Munich Security Conference.
