The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Munich where European leaders are holding a security conference.
He described it as an "important step" towards making sure no one in Europe was afraid of being left without protection.
The Nato chief Mark Rutte said the alliance needed to do more for Ukraine – but added that Russia was recording "staggering losses" on the frontlines.
