Zelenskyy says new plan contains 'workable' steps towards peace in Ukraine | ITV News

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the latest negotiations with US and European partners have led to "workable" steps towards achieving a peace deal with Russia.

In a national address on Monday, Zelenskky said: "Today our delegation returned from Geneva after negotiations with the American side and European partners, and now the list of necessary steps to end the war can become workable."

He said there was still a lot of "difficult" work to be done before a final document could be produced, and that there were "sensitive issues" that he would need to discuss with US President Donald Trump.

His comments follow a day of intensive talks that were held in Geneva, Switzerland, over the weekend.

Those talks took place after a controversial 28-point plan was said to have been negotiated by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Kremlin representative Kirill Dmitriev, with Kyiv and European allies left out of the process.
