The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet Donald Trump at the White House today where he’ll ask Washington to sell long range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Following a phone call with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Mr Trump appeared to rein back on the idea, claiming the US needed the weapons themselves.
Mr Trump said "great progress" had been made during the call and he would be meeting Mr Putin in Budapest within the next two weeks.
