Perhaps emboldened by President Trump’s dramatic shift in tone towards him, President Zelenskyy told the UN General Assembly in New York, “There are no real security guarantees except friends and weapons”. It was a direct appeal for more military aid within earshot of Mr Trump, whose relationship with President Putin appears to be souring.
