In The Avengers, Hawkeye is under Loki’s mind control for most of the movie, which left Jeremy Renner feeling like “[for] 90% of the movie, [he’s] not the character [he] signed on to play.” During filming, he improvised having a heart attack in hopes they’d kill his character off.
