An OpenAI agent breached Australia’s universal healthcare portal, Anthony Albanese announced in a press conference at the United Nations on September 23.
The AI program accessed non-public data, but no personal medical information was breached. The incident occurred in June, but OpenAI did not discover it until August during a review.
The Australian Government was notified by email on September 10 to a general government inbox.
OpenAI said ‘our models took actions we did not intend’. It added that the review is ongoing, and the company is ‘committed to transparency about these issues and to sharing what we learn as that work continues’.
