Protesting students have blockaded high schools in France as organisers call for a nationwide day of action on October 6, calling for more resources for the school systems. In Paris, students as well as teachers, other union members and some elected officials joined the protests. After several warnings police eventually pushed the crowd back using shield, batons and tear gas. Some schools have been closed as the authorities seek to reduce damage and injuries.
