Former PM Liz Truss blames Treasury officials and Bank of England for her disastrous mini-budget

Former prime minister Liz Truss has blamed the Bank of England and Treasury officials for her disastrous mini-budget that crashed the UK economy.

She told Mornings presenter Wilfred Frost that Treasury officials had not highlighted any risk of going ahead with a package of measures in September 2022 that ultimately ended with her resignation after 49 days in office.

"Are you suggesting that as prime minister I should go online and do my own research?" she asked.
